Your Gmail app password
Takes about three minutes. You do it once.
- Open your Google account
On your phone or this computer, go to myaccount.google.com and sign in with your work email (the one ending in @3ddx.com).
- Turn on 2-Step Verification
Click Security on the left. Under How you sign in to Google, click 2-Step Verification, then Turn on, and follow Google's steps (it sends a code to your phone). If it already says On, go to step 3.
- Open App passwords
Go to myaccount.google.com/apppasswords. Google may ask for your normal password again; type it.
- Make one for 3DDX
In the box App name, type 3DDX and click Create.
- Copy the 16 letters
Google shows a box with 16 letters in four groups, like abcd efgh ijkl mnop. That is your Gmail app password. Copy it (spaces do not matter).
- Sign in to 3DDX
Come back to the 3DDX sign-in, paste the 16 letters in Gmail app password, fill in your work email, CP login ID and CP password, and click Sign in.
If step 3 says the setting is not available, 2-Step Verification is still off: do step 2 first. If you change your Google password later, the app password stops working: make a new one the same way and sign in again. Lost it? Google never shows it twice. Make a new one.
